The Mother Series subverts the traditional form of portraiture and family pictures by turning the

mother’s back to the camera while the children face the lens in a strategy designed to question

cultural and social norms about motherhood in

the 21st century. Individual portraits are printed in

groups inviting a comparative analysis of identity and the maternal bond.
